Cressbrook Gala Day – Sunday 12th June Hot on the heels of a superb 10k Cressbrook Crawl on the 14th May – congratulations to all the runners who took part from Cressbrook and Tideswell – we’re now into the run up to our Gala Week and another date for your diary! Sunday 12th June is Gala Day. 1.30pm. The road through Cressbrook will be closed.
2pm Starting at Cressbrook church, after the Blessing of the Wells, the Cressbrook Silver Band march and play through the village to the Green where the main well-dressings are displayed and entertain everyone with their music.
2.30pm The Appalachian Dancers perform on the Green. All afternoon there are stalls on the road, the bar is open and teas and brilliant not to be missed homemade cakes are served in Cressbrook Club – this will be the first event in our newly refurbished downstairs room. The Silver Band will play outside the club and the Appalachian Dancers perform again on the Green.
Throughout the week teas, coffees and cake will be served at Cressbrook Church which is where the Children’s Well will be sited. This was piloted for the first time last year and was very successful – (I found several urgent reasons why I needed to walk up the road for homemade cake).
Do come and join us for a great afternoon in Cressbrook on Gala Day.
