We were able to relaunch as a quarterly magazine thanks to the generous support of the Parish Council and a very generous anonymous donation.

It’s early days for the relaunch.  We’re still working on the balance of content and adverts and how to make the magazine financially sustainable.  It looks like keeping the magazine going will need support from sponsorship and donations as well as adverts.  We’ve launched with advertising rates that are close to the old ones.  They cover the cost of the space they take up but not much more.

Times are changing.  Printing costs, like many others, are going up.  Our first edition cost £560 to print, for 24 pages and 1,400 copies.  To fund that from advertising would have needed 14 pages of adverts, leaving 10 pages for content including the front cover.  We feel that’s not the right mix and most of the magazine should be local news, information and articles.

We were short of copies for the first edition so we also need a bigger print run.  A 24-page magazine with 1,600 copies would cost about £2,600 a year.  We hope to cover about a quarter of that with adverts leaving just under £2,000 to find. That’s £100 a year from 20 people or £10 a year from 200 people.

It you’re interested in sponsorship or making a donation please use the links above or email accounts.

We’re confident we can make this work but we need your help to do it.  Thank you from all of us at the Tideswell and District Village Voice team.
