Cemetery working party

You may have read in previous editions of the VV that the Parish Council have been seeking permission from the diocese to renovate and repair the cemetery. This is going to be quite a big project and we are seeking professional advice about how best to undertake the required works.

We understand and share frustrations that we can’t just crack on and make the repairs and restorations, however, there’s no way around it and we need the relevant permissions.

However, we want to try and get started with some basics and it has been suggested that we organise a working party to make a start on the project. So on Saturday 6th October the Councillors will be up at the cemetery and are hoping some of you good people may be able to join us. We are thinking of a good tidy up, whilst looking at suggestions of how to improve the area. A walkabout the area pointing out ideas will be so helpful. It is not a straightforward task and we do need to make sure that we have the correct permissions. We will also need to apply for grants etc.

We want to get this right and input from the Parish will be so helpful.
If anyone could spare a little time on Saturday 6th October (weather permitting) we would be so happy to see you there. The group will be there from 10 am.
