Buxton’s SuperKitchen

High Peak Food Bank has started to serve monthly meals with two aims. Firstly, to offer a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for anyone who would like to come, and also to tackle the immense problem in our society of food waste.

This SuperKitchen will be held on Friday 7th July from 5.30 to 7pm in the United Reformed Church in Hardwick Square East. Volunteer cooks will wait on the day to see what surplus food arrives from local shops – it may just be that a label is wonky –and then decide what to prepare. All are welcome to this ‘social eating phenomenon’, so do give it a try. Take your friends or make new friends there. And pay what you feel.

Just a reminder that there is always a box for the Food Bank at the back of the Parish Church. Current needs include toilet paper, UHT milk, coffee and tinned fruit.
