Great Hucklow is twinned with Parisot – a village in SW France between Montauban and Villefranche-de-Rouergue in the Tarn-et-Garonne area of the Midi Pyrenees. Both are rural communities with like-minded people who are interested in getting to know each other and their communities better. The twinning was formally established in 2010. Every couple of years we have gone over to France and likewise they have come here the following year. We and they have stayed with local families and enjoyed the hospitality and events on offer, arranged by the host twinning association. But the twinning is not only about visits, particularly as we recognise not everyone can or wants to travel. We aim to offer something for everyone so when we are not visiting, we are practising our French conversation, cooking French style, organising film nights, barbecues and other social events for our members.
All are welcome, regardless of where they live. Membership costs only £5 for individuals or £10 for couples and families to cover administration and some entertainment costs.
Our next event is a local walk on Sunday 10th April. For further details and information please contact myself tele: 01298 871 593 or email info@hucklow-parisot.org. Do check out the website www.hucklow-parisot.org.
We look forward to meeting some new members.
Best regards,
Janet Persey (Chair of the Great Hucklow & District Twinning Association)
