Cinema

This month one of Orson Welles’ classic films comes to our screen in Tideswell. ‘Touch of Evil’, made in 1958 and starring Janet Leigh and Charlton Heston, is a brilliant noir crime thriller. It is hugely entertaining and widely regarded as one of Welles’ finest films.

A stark, perverse story of murder, kidnapping and police corruption in a Mexican border town (don’t be put off!), it is acclaimed for its outstanding acting and amazing cinematography, and well worth seeing.

It will be shown upstairs in the George on Thursday 28th April at 7.30pm, and everyone is welcome as a guest member for the evening (£4). BONUS FILM! We have added one more film to our season’s programme. On Thursday 26th May we will be showing ‘Brooklyn’ – make a note in your diary.
