Based on the literary classic by Thomas Hardy, this latest film production is the story of independent, beautiful and headstrong Bathsheba Everdene (Carey Mulligan) who attracts three very different suitors. Gabriel Oak (Matthias Schoenaerts) a handsome sheep farmer, Frank Troy (Tom Sturridge) a dashing and reckless Sergeant and William Boldwood (Michael Sheen), a prosperous and mature bachelor. This timeless story of Bathsheba’s choices and passions explores the nature of relationships and love.
Cressbrook Film Club has a 4 metre screen, 5.1 surround sound, really comfy seats and the bar is open for refreshments before and after the film and as ever, there’s a warm welcome for old and new members and guests. Doors open at 7.30pm, the film starts at 8pm and lasts 119mins.
