The Tideswell Allotments Association Open Show will be on Saturday, 22 August, in the St. John’s Institute. Please note the change of venue due to the proposed work at the Fountain Square Church Hall this summer.
This is a very friendly local show – open to anyone growing their own flowers and vegetables, baking or producing their own eggs. Come along with your own entries or just come along to enjoy the spectacle! Entries must be submitted between 8am and 10am, and then the show is open to the public at 1pm. All entries cost just 20 pence each – except for the children’s categories which are free! Information about entering, copies of the schedule and pictures from last year’s show are all available on our web site – www.tideswellallotments.org.uk. Schedules will also be available from the usual local shops just before the event.
We are very keen to encourage more entries from children. So if your child or grandchild is a budding gardener, poet or artist – please encourage them to submit something in those categories. The theme for the children’s pictures this year is “Pond life” and the theme for their poems is “The Seasons”.
We also have a photography section, and the theme this year is “Peak District Churches”.
So get growing and creating – and we hope to see you on the 22 August.
