Tideswell Parish Council met a week earlier than usual, to discuss a full agenda.
There is still a vacancy for one new Parish Councillor, and residents are welcome to ask more about our work.
There will be an election in May 2015, so this is the ideal opportunity for a person to “try out” the role for a few months.
We are pleased to announce that we have a new Vice Chairman, Russell Andrew.
Tideswell also has a new PCSO, Ian Phipps who will visit Tideswell on a regular basis, and who will work with the parish council.
We wish them both well in their new roles.
The Chairman will attend a forum at Peak Park Planning, an open day at DALC and the public meeting at Litton before the next month’s Council meeting, and report back. Letters have gone to Derbyshire County Council again regarding highway problems.
Arrangements have been made for winter gritting. The public toilet legal documents are in the hands of the respective lawyers.
Councillor Bower gave an update on Planning. Councillor Chapman has overseen the pollarding of trees. Councillor Baraona and other councillors have been busy erecting the Christmas trees and lights, which we hope everyone will enjoy.
Each councillor carries out duties for which they have a particular talent, and the whole team is working well.
The next full council meeting will be held on Monday 12th January 2015 at the Fountain Square Vestry. All residents are welcome to attend.
We will be on the search for our Community Award Champions once more, so please let a member of the Council know who you would like to nominate for 2015.
Sue Barber, Chairman Tideswell Parish Council
