THE CHRISTMAS TRUCE

The final “Tideswell Remembers” village event commemorating the centenary of the outbreak of WW1 will be held in front of St John’s Church on Wednesday 17th December, at 6pm. There will be a re-enactment of the spontaneous ‘truce’, when hostilities between both sides briefly ceased on Christmas Day 1914, with the famous impromptu football match. This short tribute will be followed by community carol singing, and will end by 6.30pm. Please come along. It is organised by Churches Together in conjunction with Tideswell Community Players.

As with the carol singing outside the Co-op on Saturday 13th December (9.30am), there will be the opportunity, for those who would like, to donate towards Embrace which offers aid in the Middle East.
