After mentioning last month Tideswell Singers’ pleasure in welcoming several newcomers to the choir, we have recruited even more – much to the delight of music publishers who are receiving orders for more copies for our growing number of singers! Our reputation as a friendly choir with high quality music making must be spreading as people come from further afield to sing with us. What a musical hub Tideswell is becoming! There will be an opportunity for you to come and listen to two of those ensembles at 19:30, Saturday 6 December, Fountain Square Church. Tideswell Band have kindly invited Tideswell Singers to guest at their Christmas Concert. As the ‘C’ word has been mentioned, here is a list of festive events where Tideswell Singers will be performing.
Friday 28 November Litton Winter Market from 18:00 Sunday 30 November Bakewell Christmas Market (times tbc) Saturday 6 December, Fountain Square Church 19:30, Friday 12 December Carol Service, Litton Church 18:00 Saturday 20 December Tideswell Singers Christmas Concert, Tideswell Parish Church 19:30 Sunday 21 December Carol Singing in the Courtyard, Chatsworth from 12:00 Before all these Christmas activities Tideswell Singers are joining Litton School Choir for concert on Friday 14 November in Litton Church at 6pm.
There is always invitation to come along and find out if you would like to join us as a regular singer. There are no auditions and rehearsals are directed in a way that encourages everyone to sing to the best of their ability. Singers need no previous experience and although we generally sing from music scores, it is not necessary to be able to read music as you will be able to learn as you go along.
