MVC at Gawsworth

Sunday August 10th 2014 will see the Tideswell Male Voice Choir return to the magnificent Open Air Theatre at Gawsworth Hall near Macclesfield to provide an evening of contemporary song and hits from the musicals.

Following rave reviews for their performance last year at Gawsworth, the promoters immediately invited the Tideswell Male Voice Choir to return again this year. Dennis Kay, Director of music for the choir said “Being asked to appear again in the Garden Theatre with its beautiful backdrop of the Tudor courtyard is a huge honour.” He continued, “Last year was a great experience, performing in front of an audience of around 800 and the guys are very excited to be performing here once more.”

New seating in the ‘Covered Grandstand' as used at the London Olympics in 2012 allows the audience more comfort and the same excellent view of the stage and it’s backdrop of the house.

To meet audience demand the choir will again perform their brilliant rendition of songs from Les Miserables. The medley of songs will feature the wonderful young soloists, Madeleine Osborne, Charlotte Hoather, Erin Alexander, Kieron-Connor Valentine, Matthew Mellor and Phil Rigley. Christopher Ellis the choirs Principal Accompanist will yet again demonstrate his outstanding dexterity on the piano/keyboard, with our newly appointed drummer Derrick McGill adding his skills to bring a new dimension which will enhance the spectacular of this already professional performance.

The evening's programme will also include popular songs which have recently been added to the choir's repertoire. 'Everything I Do' from the film 'Robin Hood Prince of Thieves', The Air that I Breathe, a big hit for The Hollies, 'Music of the Night' from 'Phantom of the Opera' and a spectacular rendition of the very emotive 'Boi Doi' from the musical Miss Saigon.

This will be a very special evening in the company of this renowned choir, talented soloists and musicians. It all takes place on Sunday 10th August commencing at 18:30 in the beautiful setting that is Gawsworth H

It’s worth making an afternoon of it, to visit the hall and gardens and bring a picnic tea to enjoy prior to the evening performance. You really shouldn't miss it, tickets are selling fast.
