Litton Parish Matters

First of all the Parish Council would like to say a big thank you to everyone who contributed to and worked so hard to raise the money to build the new steps and porch on the Cressbrook club. The club is important to Cressbrook and it is a real testament to the residents that they maintain it in such good order. We enjoy the times when we hold our Council meetings in the Cressbrook and were very pleased when we were able to contribute £750 seed corn money towards the cost of the new entrance.

Cressbrook has also acquired a re-vamped village green with a bandstand area courtesy of Severn Trent Water Authority. Again a big thank you to those people who worked with Severn Trent to negotiate and deliver what the village wanted. A great achievement and no doubt something which will give great service and much enjoyment in years to come.

Finally a note about Solley’s seat, again in Cressbrook. It is not the Council’s responsibility but it needs some serious repair work and councillor’s John Butler and Chris Thirtle are investigating who has responsibility for the seat and how it could be repaired. I will report progress on this but, as many of you will know, these things take time.

By the time this report is published we will have held the Annual Parish Meeting and I will be able to report on what we plan to do over the next twelve months.
