If you are a Tideswell resident you are invited to Tideswell Parish Council’s short Annual Parish meeting on 12th May 2014 at 7.30 in the Fountain Square vestry.
It has been an eventful year for the parish council and many residents will want to hear what we have accomplished and what we intend to do over the coming year and leading up to next year’s elections.
To illustrate the breadth of items we discuss during a parish council meeting, April’s meeting discussed the foul habit some dog walkers have of hanging their scooped poop from trees and bushes. That isn’t what the handles on the little bags are for. Please take it home or dispose of it properly.
We also discussed the current negotiations taking place with the district council about taking over the ownership and running of the village toilets.
Councillors talked through the developing plans for Tideswell Illuminations this coming Christmas. Discussions are taking place with various village organisations but if you want to know more, come along on the 12th.
The Annual Parish Meeting is followed by a short meeting of the council where the forthcoming year’s chair and vice chair are voted for along with the members of the various sub committees that deal with specific parish matters. After that the May Parish Council meeting takes place, another long night for your volunteer councillors.
