African dance and art were on the agenda at Great Hucklow School a few weeks ago. Bemma Akeaypong, from African Ark, came and taught the children some fascinating drawing skills using traditional colours and materials. They produced some beautiful artwork which they enjoyed showing in Parents’ Assembly. Then came the dance with different styles and moves from across the continent of Africa. In the end nearly 50 children were up and dancing to an amazing choreographed piece to traditional music.
