Tideswell Cinema’s October film is based on the true story of American ice skater Tonya Harding. Unlike most other top skaters, Tonya came from a very humble background, and as a result remains largely an outsider to the figure skating community. However, she rises amongst the ranks of the US Figure Skating Championships, becoming national champion, a World Championship medallist, and an Olympian. Then, in January 1994, a leg bashing incident destroys her future and breaks her heart. The film will be shown on Thursday 25th October at 7.30 p.m., upstairs at The George Inn.
