Cressbrook Film Club, January film

Our first film for 2017 is a Ridley Scott sci-fi movie, which is a simple tale of survival and rescue. During a manned mission to Mars, astronaut Mark Watney (Matt Damon) is presumed dead after a fierce storm and gets left behind by his crew. But Watney has survived, and finds himself stranded and alone on a hostile planet. With only meager supplies left, he must draw upon his ingenuity using gaffer tape, human waste and spare parts, plus his wit and spirit to keep alive and find a way to signal to Earth that he has survived and needs to be rescued.

As fans know we have a wide cinema screen, high quality sound, really comfy seats, doors open 7.30 for 8pm and the bar will be open for refreshments before and after the film and as ever, there’s a warm welcome for old and new members and guests. Guest tickets available at £5 per film for adults and £3 for kids. Contact David Lawton on 01298 872 144 to book guest tickets in advance.
