The church clock chimes were finally fixed at the end of October. Thankfully, Smith of Derby (clock engineers) eventually worked out that the problem was one they missed when the same motor was repaired about eighteen months ago, and so they made no charge this time.
We’d like to express sincere thanks to Wakes Festivities for the £100 grant towards the expected cost (of over £800), which has now been returned. And thank you for your interest and positive comments about how much the chimes were missed.
