September Saturdays continued in the same vein as most other Saturdays this summer. No matches were played.
At the August Bank Holiday weekend, visitors Sheffield Super Kings were keen to ensure that they finished top of Div. 5, so the players waited for the rain to stop, and when it did, the Super Kings knocked up 123-5 and then declared. Whether they would have bowled TCC out for under this total we shall never know, as the rain set in again and the match had to be abandoned. The outcome was 9 points for Tideswell and 8 for Super Kings.
The last match of the season, away at Hollinsend, was simply rained off.

That’s it for 2016. Once again Tideswell finished 5th, but in an expanded Division 5. The top 3 are promoted.
To sum up this disappointing summer, Tideswell won 8, lost 8, 3 were abandoned, and an extraordinary 20 games were cancelled for various reasons, but mainly because of rain.
