Hopefully you managed to take a look at Tideswell Kitchen Garden during the Wakes festivities, to see how much is now growing. Our broad beans are showing off crimson flowers, alpine strawberries are ripening, we have Romaine lettuce and rhubarb galore, the tomatoes, potatoes, onions and peas are looking established, courgette and squash plants have been planted out and fresh herbs are at their tastiest and most tender. If you’re out and about and fancy a picnic in a peaceful and scenic spot, bring your lunch to the garden and sit at our table or on one of our benches; and if you feel inspired to do a little gardening after seeing everything flourishing around you, remember that you can always join us. The best time to meet us is on the first Saturday of the month, at 10 am. You don’t need to have any experience and it doesn’t matter how much or little time you have to give. Alternatively email Helen Grainger at wh.grainger@hotmail.co.uk, call Judy Cooke on 01298 872408, or contact us on Facebook via the ‘Tideswell Kitchen Garden’ group.
