I have recently moved into Tideswell and have found everyone to be very friendly and helpful.
This Spirit has been shown to myself particularly by the Bowls team. I joined and have enjoyed the help (my bowls wander a bit) given to myself by every member. This team spirit was tested and confirmed during the tragic events on the first day of the Crown Green season.
As most of you may know, 999 was called from the Tideswell Bowling Green due to Henry Radford collapsing during the game. All the club members rallied around, from performing CPR, fetching the defibrillator from the Co-op, to spreading out as lookouts for the emergency services.
The Air Ambulance was the first to respond within 10 mins and landed straight onto the green, their professionalism and expertise was extremely impressive.
The whole scenario watched at close quarters made me realise what an essential resource the Air Ambulance Service is to Tideswell and the surrounding counties.
I have therefore found and signed up for a sponsored 22.5 mile walk “The Peak Challenge” in support of the Air Ambulance, and in the Spirit of Tideswell. It will be on the weekend of 07/05/16 and you are all welcome to join in!
