A pivotal moment in the history of the USA is portrayed in this month’s film, ‘Selma’. In 1965 as part of the civil rights movement, thousands gathered to march from Selma to Montgomery in support of voting rights for black people, led by Martin Luther King.
The film brilliantly and powerfully chronicles King’s three month campaign leading up to the march.
David Oyelowo plays Martin Luther King, and Tom Wilkinson takes the role of President Lyndon Johnson. ‘Selma’ will be shown upstairs in the George on Thursday 31st March at 7.30pm. Pre-show meals are available.
