Community Awards

It’s the sixth year of the awards. In my opinion people in the village who give their time freely in many different ways for the benefit of other residents don’t do so out of any desire for public recognition or reward. However this doesn’t mean that their efforts shouldn’t be acknowledged and appreciation shown. It was quite a coincidence last year, when, chatting with a former parish councillor in the Institute about the awards, the recipient of the first one could be seen working outside.

I was intrigued in last month’s Village Voice to read of a forthcoming Parish Council Open Morning at which the awards are to be presented. If you would like to nominate someone, look out for details from Hannah Owen, Clerk to the Parish Council.

Helen Royle.
