A new community choir will begin meeting at the Friends Meeting House, Chapel Lane, Bakewell, DE45 1EL on Wednesday the 3rd of February 2016 between 7.30 and 9.30.
The choir will be led by Lester Simpson who has many years experience of leading choirs and harmony workshops and is currently a choir leader for Derbyshire County and Derby City Councils, Raise Your Voices, Leek Peace Choir, Movers and Shakers (Parkinson’s Choir Derby) and a Unison workplace choir.
Singer, songwriter and musician, Lester works as both a soloist and with the acclaimed a cappella trio ‘Coope Boyes and Simpson’. He has made numerous recordings and performed in film and theatre, including a period with the RSC.
This wealth of experience will bring an eclectic mix of songs and styles to the choir.
No auditions, no musical knowledge needed, and all will be welcome, this is singing for the joy of it.
The idea is to encourage nervous singers to leave the bathroom and join a choir. It can boost your brain, your heart and your confidence!
