Tideswell Singers joined the throng at Tideswell Food Festival on Saturday 2 May and sang their hearts out to those who had braved the wind and rain at this excellent event. Summer activities now continue with a vocal greeting to L’Eroica cyclists on 21 June in Headstone Tunnel on the Monsal Trail. Last year’s appearance was so well received that the choir has been invited back and asked if they could get there really early so that they are heard by more cyclists!Closer to home at a more congenial time, our annual Wakes Concert with Tideswell Community Players is on Wednesday 24 June in Tideswell Parish Church at 7:30pm. After an eventful year, the choir would like to revisit some of their favourite pieces and Tideswell Community Players will perform some pieces inspired by the carvings, windows and features in the church. We do hope you will be able to join Tideswell Singers and Tideswell Community Players for an evening of entertainment provided by local people as part of the village Wakes activities.
Tideswell Singers also extend an invitation to come along and find out if you would like to join us as a regular singer. There are no auditions and rehearsals are directed in a way that encourages everyone to sing to the best of their ability. Singers need no previous experience and although we generally sing from music scores, it is not necessary to be able to read music as you will be able to learn as you go along. Rehearsals are 7:30pm Wednesday evenings in Litton Village Hall.
