The hall committee has existed in its present form since 1988 and received charitable status in 1990. Our remit is to manage the Village Hall. On the 9th January 2015 we were delighted to learn that we had been awarded a grant of £7,291 from The Big Lottery Fund’s Awards For All to replace the hall’s worn out floor with a new covering throughout the ground floor.
We hire out the hall for a large variety of uses which includes local school children and toddlers, differing exercise classes, Doctors’ Surgeries, Well Dressing, table tennis, regular group meetings and other activities. The committee works hard to constantly monitor and update equipment and keep our Hall fit for purpose.
However, continual use means the floor, laid in 1996, has become too thin to maintain and it has become extremely difficult to clean and get dry in time for the various different bookings each day.
We are sure this project and award will help stimulate new enquiries throughout our widespread rural area from potential hirers of our hall and encourage existing users to continue their activities in this attractive facility in the centre of Litton Village.
We give grateful thanks to The Big Lottery Fund for giving us this award and support.
