Outstanding School

If you have ever wondered what the CE bit means in the middle of our school name then you are not alone!

The CE bit shows that we are a school that was set up by The Church of England. The National Society for Promoting Religious Education (part of the Church of England) was established in 1811 to provide schools for poor children.

As a Church School we are inspected by two different bodies Ofsted and SIAMS (Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools).

In November we received our SIAMS inspection (which happens every 5 years) and were found to be an “Outstanding Church School.” We are really pleased with the report, which judges Leadership and Management, the quality of our Collective worship, the teaching of RE and the distinctiveness and ethos of our school.

If you would like to find out more, then the report can be viewed on our website. www.bishoppursglove.derbyshire.sch.uk.
