The Tideswell And District Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal would like to say thank you to everyone in Tideswell, Litton, Great Hucklow, Wardlow Mires and Cressbrook.
Once again, you have given wonderful support to this year’s rather special Poppy Appeal, and I have been able to send £2,904.28 to the Royal British Legion, as collected in the tins, donations and payment for wreaths. (Last year’s total was just over £2,400.)
Trying not to sound too much like an ‘Oscar’ winner, can I thank the friends who helped me count the cash – you know who you are – and our wonderful Post Office staff, who checked our counting. I hope you will all put yourselves on standby for 2015.
I want to thank as well Jayne McMillan, a fairly new resident of Litton. Jayne organised a quiz in support of the Appeal, and this raised £115, and she has also helped me collect tins and count the cash. We’ll be working together on next year’s Appeal. Are you able to cope with two ex-Brummies?
