If your copy of the Village Voice reaches you in time, just a reminder that Tideswell Community Players present Michael Frayn’s Alarms and Excursions on 27th to 29th.
The play is a suite of short comedy plays which examine the difficulties posed by technology and modern life – with, for the audience at least, hilarious results, but for the characters a range of frustrations and even injuries.
The seven pieces range from a dinner party doomed to failure as one-by-one labour saving devices become hostile, to a tongue-in-cheek revisiting of the days before we all had mobile phones, when communication between those on the move could become fraught with difficulty.
The play is being performed at Fountain Square Church Thursday 27 to Saturday 29 November 2014 7.30pm at Fountain Square Church. Tickets £8 and £6 (concessions) from Tideswell Post Office or Litton Shop, bookings on theatre@tideswell.net, from 01298 871063, or on the door.
