It has become an annual Christmas tradition, in St John’s Church, to place candles on the south windowsills in memory of loved ones. These are lit for the 11.30 p.m. service on Christmas Eve, then left on display to be lit a second time for the 9.30 a.m. Candlemas service on 8th February.
Candles cost 50p each. Only one name will be allocated to each candle purchased. If you would like to place an order, please enclose the appropriate payment in an envelope bearing your name and clearly indicating the name of the person to be remembered. Their name will be printed on the side of the candle holder. Post this through my letter box at St Elmo, Sherwood Rd., Tideswell by Sunday 14th December.
Please note, members of the congregation will be able to place their orders at Sunday services as usual.
