The Council met to discuss a variety of issues in September. A member of the public attended to listen to planning application discussion. Please note that we welcome residents to all our meetings. Our next meeting will be held in the Fountain Square Vestry on Monday 13th October at 7.30pm.

Congratulations were proffered to our Vice Chairman Pete Hawkins , when we learned of his achievement, finishing the Great North Run in a time just over two hours.
The legalities for the hand-over of the public toilets to the control of the parish council are nearing completion.
The Wakes committee has agreed to organise some of the Christmas lighting activities, with a special team, including parish councillors and Community Association members. Derbyshire County Council has insisted that no lights be attached to lampposts.
There had been no reply to letters from the Parish Council to Derbyshire County Council or the Police about illegal parking outside Markeygate House. Repeat letters are to be sent.
Most of the potentially dangerous trees in the village have been lopped. Others will receive attention shortly.
Our interim Clerk has received several promising applications for the permanent Clerk’s post. Interviews to appoint the new Parish Clerk will take place soon.
Councillor Russell Andrew has agreed that a sign showing the correct route to Holdsworth’s will be erected on his land. This follows several incidents where large lorries have tried unsuccessfully to travel up a track which is too narrow.
