Tideswell Singers are enjoying a well deserved break over the summer after a very busy and varied season which included a hugely successful Come & Sing event in May, which attracted over 100 singers to Tideswell, a moving concert with Tideswell Community Players during Wakes week and singing in Headstone Tunnel on the Monsal Trail to greet the L’Eroica cyclists.
Our first project for the forthcoming season will be on 20 September, when we will be participating in the opening concert of Tideswell Arts Festival as guests of Albion choir. This concert will be preceded by a singing workshop led by Tideswell Singers’ Musical director, Carol Bowns. The workshop will include a piece for participants to join with the performers in the evening. Please visit http://tideswellfestival.co.uk/buy-online/singing-workshop/ for more information.
We are also planning one of our popular Derbyshire Tour concerts in the locality in the early autumn.
As the new season begins, why not take this as an opportunity to come along and find out if you would like to join us as a regular member? The choir is open to all and rehearsals are directed in a way that encourages everyone to sing to the best of their ability. Singers need no previous experience and although we sing from music scores, it is not necessary to be able to read music as you will be able to learn as you go along. There are no auditions, although members are encouraged to take advantage of a free singing lesson from Carol!
Tideswell Singers is a friendly and welcoming choir and is proud of its community spirit. Rehearsals start again 7:30pm Wednesday 3 September in Litton Village Hall. For more information please visit www.tideswellsingers.org.uk or call Carol Bowns 01298 213577
