St John’s Church regularly takes donations of non-perishable food and toiletries to the High Peak Night Stop and Food Bank. At the moment their most pressing needs are for UHT milk, tinned carrots, tinned sweetcorn, tinned green beans, tinned meat and coffee. There is a box at the back of the church for donations.
“These make a big difference to the lives of people in our community,” said a grateful Food Bank coordinator. They would also welcome new volunteers (4-5.30pm any weekday). Contact them on 01298 73313.
