Tideswell Parish Matters

Tideswell’s new Parish Council is continuing to sort itself out after the mass resignations earlier in the year.

At the last council meeting Rob Puckett was co-opted onto the council following the resignation of Sue Willis. Rob was a councillor in his previous village before moving to Tideswell a couple of years ago, and brings valuable experience to the council.

A recent safety audit of the playgrounds has resulted in some replacement swings and further maintenance will be undertaken over the next few weeks to sort out a few issues that were highlighted.

Plans to take over the running of the public toilets in the centre of the village from Derbyshire Dales District Council are developing and we shall we soon be seeking tenders from interested parties wishing to undertake the refurbishment on our behalf.

Details of these tenders, and for repair work to the car park by the Town Head playground will be posted in the Parish Council notice board on the Coop wall.

In forthcoming issues of the Village Voice, there will be short profiles of the new council, so you know who are representing your interests in Tideswell.

Parish Council meetings are public meetings and you are cordially invited to attend to observer or for the first ten minutes of each meeting to bring any issues or concerns you may have to the council’s attention. Dates and times of meetings are posted on the Council notice board.
