Living History Poems

At the recent coffee morning held by the Community Association we launched our booklet of Poems and Short Stories. Hot off the Press, it went down a storm and at a small cost of £1.50 per copy you are seriously missing out if you haven’t bought a copy yet.

Thank you to those who have already purchased a copy and thank you for the wonderful comments, a quote from one lady was ‘It is something I shall never tire of, I can read it over and over again’ and another lady said ‘The contents are a wonderful tribute to Tidza, some humorous stories and poems, some sad, some funny and some special memories’.

The poems are the entries received for display in the Fountain Square telephone kiosk aka the ‘History Box’ – and at long last we are pleased to announce we will shortly be going ahead with the refurbishment.

The short stories contained in the booklet have been penned by Trevor Hall, former resident and postman in Tideswell, a lovable character, who always has a funny story to tell and a trick up his sleeve. Trevor has kindly agreed to be interviewed so we hope soon to put some of it on line for you to listen to.

If anybody out there has any stories or poems to add to our collection, please let us have them because we hope to add to the booklet. In the meantime, contact any member of our group if you would like a copy. (Gillian Adams (871900) Mary Landon (871817), Judy Cooke (872408) Paul Harrison (872285)).
