Tideswell Singers reconvene at 7:30pm on Wednesday 4 September in Litton Village Hall after a well deserved summer break. The choir will be concentrating on learning a new (to them) repertoire for a combined concert with Hallam Choral Society in Ecclesall Parish Church, Sheffield at 7:30pm on Saturday 23 November. This will be an exciting event involving the two choirs, Hallam Sinfonia, professional soloists and narrators to perform major works from the choral repertoire. This year, that date sees the centenary of the birth of Benjamin Britten and we will be marking the occasion with a performance of his seldom heard work, ‘The World of the Spirit’.
Along with this major undertaking, Tideswell Singers will continue rehearsing familiar repertoire which will form the basis of community performances throughout the coming year.
Tideswell Singers is a mixed voice non-audition choir which enjoys performing a wide ranging repertoire and welcomes new members. Rehearsals are held on Wednesdays in Litton Village Hall at 7:30pm. For more information please visit www.tideswellsingers.org.uk or call Carol Bowns 01298 213577.
