‘Fat!’ has frequently been shouted in our house recently in my quest to seek out unsaturated fats which are good and avoid saturated fats which are bad (however my teenage children wouldn’t agree!).
Did you know that the incidence of MS is higher the further away you live from the equator except in places where a lot of fish is eaten. Japan for instance has a very low incidence of MS. Eating oily fish such as herring, salmon, sardines, anchovies and mackerel is recommended as they contain omega 3 good fats. Not only will eating oily fish a few times a week help you avoid MS but arthritis and heart disease too.
Our monthly MS@VK Get togethers are held on the the last Saturday afternoon in the month. Our next Get together is on the 28th September, at Vanilla Kitchen cafe in the ice cream parlour at 2pm. All welcome.
The consumption of oily fish is not required but soya milk is available and I’d recommend the soya milk latte!
