This year’s British Legion Poppy Appeal has so far raised £1769.86 from the collection tins (one more to come) and donations from those groups who ordered wreaths. Thank you everyone, including Great Hucklow, Wardlow Mires and Litton, who helped in any way, with collecting, counting, and a big ‘thank you’ to Philip and the Post Office staff for their help with banking. Once again the people of Tideswell and surrounding villages have donated generously to our armed forces, past and present.
The collection is down from Norman’s total last year, but the Derbyshire organiser tells me that this has happened across the county. I have met many new people, had lots of support, and will try not to miss any local businesses out next year.
