Welcome to 2013, the Village Voice’s twentieth year of publication, during which we have grown from a single sheet of A4 to the current bumper edition. We produce an interactive digital edition which is available online and now new for 2013 we have a website and a Twitter account.
Each month articles from the printed edition will be uploaded to the web site. Older articles will be archived on the site. The web site allows for commenting on articles (which will be moderated) and where longer articles are sent, the full text can be used instead of the edited version. Regular contributors can post articles to the website directly, to be held in a queue until ready for publication – if you are one of those, then please contact me and I’ll set you up with an account. We are also looking for village contributors from Litton, Wheston, Wardlow, Cressbrook, Litton Mill, Great and Little Hucklow. Please contact me for details. Anyone can register on the site enabling you to post up details of items for sale and also add events to the online calendar. Our current advertisers will be allowed to add their business details, initially as part of their printed advert fee. Businesses who don’t currently advertise will in time be able to add their details for a small fee. In addition there is space for two adverts at the head and foot of each page. Contact Juliet (872333) if you’d like to advertise here. The Twitter account (@Village VoiceUK) will be used to post current articles to the twittersphere every four hours or so. Our new logo designed by graphic designer Greg Walker, will adorn both our printed and online editions. Thanks to Greg for designing this for The Village Voice. Please let us know what you think and pass the url onto those who may be interested – www.villagevoicetideswell.org.uk.
