The month of January is proving to be a busy time for us, we are continuing with our interviews and recording some amazing stories. Our transcribers are working flat out to put more of your memories on to our website. Have you listened to them yet? Check them out on tideswelltales.wordpress.com.
A wonderful lady, Mrs Vera Skidmore aged 96 talks about her childhood memory of travelling in a horse and trap all the way to Matlock. John Ponsonby recalls the ‘Jukebox’ in his Grandad Joe’s cafe. There are lots more ‘gems’ on our website and if you would like to put one of your memories on there – give us a call on 01298 872285. Over the next few months our ‘Telephone Kiosk’ in Fountain Square will become a ‘Memory Box’ holding more photographs and information on our project. Maybe you have a memory of using the kiosk. We still need to talk to you regarding memories of ‘Celebrations’ held in the village. Do you remember V.E. Day, Jubilee Celebrations, and of course a most recent event ‘The Millennium’. Let us know and we’ll come along and record you. If you like telling a ‘good story’ you could be one of our ‘Story Tellers’ at the forthcoming Food Festival in May. Maybe you have a ‘Ghost Story’ to share. We would love to hear them so please get in touch with us.
