TIDESWELL & DISTRICT COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION
Tideswell and District Community Association (TDCA) was formed in 1987 to raise funds to provide small grants to local organisations. Events organised by TDCA have included annual bonfire and fireworks displays, coffee mornings, dog shows, and treasure hunts.
Our current events calendar focuses on 3 main fund-raising events: an annual quiz, a stall at Tideswell Food Festival and the ever-popular Last Night of the Proms held each September. Funds are also raised by the Village Lottery (the 200 Club) – to join it’s £1 per month with monthly prizes.
Recent grants have been made to local organisations as varied as Tideswell Kitchen Garden, Tideswell Community Land Trust, the Parish Council towards the refurbishment of the Richard Lane play area, the Library of Things, the Community Hall towards the purchase of its Freehold, Breakfast with Santa, and Friends of Bishop Pursglove School.
Tideswell Community Park Management and Development Team (PMDT), a sub-committee of TDCA, are volunteers who are responsible for the maintenance of the grounds and the two pavilions in the Park, and its financial management and income generation. They co-ordinate the use of the facilities for sport and recreation activities by people of all ages with a wide range of physical abilities. The Team develop plans to improve and develop the site for greater and wider use by the local community.
TDCA was involved with the installation of defibrillators in the village and continues to pay for spare parts. The Welcome Pack for people new to the village is also a TDCA initiative.
TDCA is run by a dedicated group of volunteer trustees and helpers, meeting every 2 months. New ideas and people are always welcome. Our website (currently being revamped) and contact information is
