We have now gained all permissions to allow changes to the library opening sessions. From Wednesday May 21st onwards, the new opening hours will be:
Wednesdays 10 a.m.-12 noon*
Fridays 2 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Saturdays 10 a.m.- 12 noon*
Mondays 2 p.m.- 5 p.m.
* changed/added sessions
The library will now be open 12 hours per week instead of the previous total of 11.5 hours. We understand that Tideswell CML will be the only DCC library open until 7:00 p.m. (Fridays) as other DCC libraries close at 6:00p.m. as an economy measure. We hope that the new Wednesday session will be useful to library users.
Our staff put in a great deal of effort in support of World Book Day. The library was visited by a substantial number of pupils from Bishop Pursglove School who engaged in book related activities which library staff provided. The library space was also enhanced through wall and other displays related to the World Book Day event.
We have recently received a grant of £500 from the Coop towards the
costs of running the library. A raffle has also been organised to help
generate extra funds.
If you are interested in volunteering for library duties call in at
the library(during opening hours), contact by phone(during opening
hours)or by email.
