A new opportunity for peace, calm and relaxation in Tideswell and Litton …..
When together as a sangha group, we focus on being aware and awake in the present moment. We also aspire to develop peace and happiness in ourselves and therefore in others. We practise this raising of awareness through meditation and mindfulness and have the support of the beautiful teachings of Vietnamese Zen Master Buddhist monk Thich Nhat Hanh. His focus has been to bring mindfulness into everyday life: while breathing, walking, pausing, connecting with nature and even washing up.
Our “Sangha in the Peak” meets twice a month in Tideswell or Litton. Everyone is welcome and there is no expectation that members will become Buddhists. We sit on seats unless you prefer to sit on the floor, and if walking is difficult then the activities can be adapted. When we meet we support you through the different activities but in brief we have a period of led meditation, a slow walking meditation, a silent meditation, a reading then an opportunity to voluntarily share anything that is on top for us in a quiet, confidential and calm environment with the healing power of being truly listened to.
Starting in October we will meet:
· On the 2nd Monday evening of the month in Tideswell at the St John’s Institute 7:15 pm – 9:15 pm (starting on Monday 8th October.)
· On the last Saturday of the month at Litton Village Hall 10:00 am – 12:00 noon (starting on Saturday 27th October.)
There is no charge but a donation is appreciated to cover our costs. Our sangha group is part of a national network with The Community of Interbeing *www.coiuk.org* <www.coiuk.org>*. *
