First Responders

As I was walking down to the village at the end of last month an emergency siren was audible in the distance. The vehicle then passed, its lights flashing. Seconds later a female with a small backpack was running up the road, pausing briefly to ask if I’d noticed the direction the car had taken. It was a medical emergency, one of several in fact in that week. Two responders were called out only days after finishing training. There are six responders who give up their time voluntarily to attend to emergencies in the area and we are extremely fortunate to have this group of people.
