Remarks

A very dry and very mild month but nowhere near as mild as December 2015. The mean temperature was 0.7° higher than the mean temperature for November 2016. It was the second driest December that I have recorded here. The driest was the very cold December of 2010. After the very dull first 3 weeks of the month, the much sunnier last week brought the sunshine total for the month up to very slightly above average. It was the first December in which I have recorded no sleet/snow falling or lying. Even the very mild December of 2015 managed one day with sleet falling.
