As announced in the Village Voice back in the summer,Tideswell United have entered the Central Midlands (North) League and thisbrings a higher level of football to the ground behind Bishop Pursglove School.
TUFC have made a sound start to their first season and are currently, going into the Christmas period, 8th in the league of 16 with 26 points and a healthy +21 goal difference.
Runaway leaders are FCBolsover with 47 points, while the bottom team, Welbeck Lions, with a remarkable minus 113 goal difference, have just registered their one and only point so far.
There are no holiday fixtures in this League, and TUFC are away the first 2 Saturdays in January. The next home fixture is on 21 January, when Tideswell entertain Welbeck Lions.
This should be an entertaining game and a goalless draw is not expected. Kick-off is at 3 p.m. and refreshments are available in the pavilion at half-time.
