Tideswell & District Voluntary Organisation (TADVO) continue their hard work to rebuild a new facility to permanently home both the Band and the Scouts and Cubs.
The new building will also provide a much needed village community hall which will be available to everyone. We are bound by the terms of our lease with DCC to replace the former youth club building with a suitable structure and monies have already been raised specifically for this purpose.
We understand TCP are exploring the possibility of creating a purpose-built Village Hall in the future and we are completely supportive of their vision. However, we are responding to the immediate need of both the band and scouts to find a permanent home in a relatively short timescale.
We understand TCP feel that two builds may dilute the energy, funding and effort needed to succeed in either project. We genuinely feel this need not be the case and the potential numbers of users easily justifies the youth club rebuild in addition to a second facility: especially as Tideswell has lost the URC Hall. The TADVO building has served the village since the 1950’s and we simply propose to replace it.
