The Tideswell Artability Group, assisted by younger members of the Cafe Church, have been busy creating a special display for you. Their models of traditional Jack-in-a-box toys will go on display from December 1st inside the Parish Church. Come and see the Christmas characters leaping from their decorated boxes. There is no entry fee!
Sadly, this will be a final public display from our members. After seventeen years, meeting every other Wednesday, it is now time to call it a day.
Most of our artists are well into their seventies – even into their nineties – and life is becoming more of a struggle. We have thoroughly enjoyed each others’ company and built a very special bond together.
Of course, we remember the highlights – the Wakes Exhibitions in Fountain Square, the Christmas Shopkas and Angels in St Johns, the calendars and the village Christmas card.
Most of all, we have appreciated the loyalty and friendship which have been at the core of all our activities.
As tutor, it is this above all else that I will choose to be my souvenir.
