It’s that time of year again and we are all set for another day of fabulous music in Eyam from 10.30 in the morning until 11.00pm.
Events are held throughout the day in Eyam Mechanics Institute and St Lawrence Church on Church Street in Eyam. Refreshments are also available. Look out for the Our Big Gig banner and you will find us. Entry to all events is free.
There is a ukulele workshop at 10.30 for those who have a ukulele and enjoy a good strum and sing. There is a picnic on the Rectory Lawn, with a little music to enjoy also. You can even have a go at bell-ringing in The Church.
In the afternoon, starting at 2.00pm, there are concerts in the Church and in The Mechanics Institute . Omega Jazz will lead proceedings in The Church and will be followed by Tideswell Singers, the Eyam Flautists and numerous groups of young performers. In The Mechanics there will be an afternoon of musical entertainment starting with ‘Sing-a-long’ and incorporating a variety of musical ‘acts’! The musical offerings will be as richly diverse as Eyam folk can provide and will be great fun.
The evening concert in The Mechanics begins at 7.30 with the Eyam All and Sundry Band and includes a rich programme of local talent. It’s going to be fantastic!!
