High Peak Foodbank Update

Thanks to everyone in the Tideswell area for all your generosity over Christmas. Foodbank volunteers and staff ensured that the service was available to families needing emergency food during this period.

This month we most need tinned vegetables, UHT milk, tinned meat, tinned meat pies, packet meals, plus instant mash, pot noodles and other ‘just add hot water’ items for people with no cooking facilities.

This January High Peak Foodbank as a charity was one year old, (although it has existed as part of High Peak Nightstop since 2007). In that year the foodbank has started helping long-term unemployed people into jobs through its work and skills programme Zink, and supporting people to resolve crisis issues as well as its foodbank service.

It has only been able to do this because of the support of local people. Please continue to give food at the various donation points or money online at www.highpeakfoodbank.co.uk or by post to High Peak Foodbank, c/o United Reformed Church, Hardwick Square East, Buxton SK17 6PT.

There is a box at the back of St John’s Parish Church, Tideswell, for donations of non-perishable food or toiletries.
